Doily Die a huge hit!

Happy Monday Y'all!

So last week I sold 8 of the brand new Stampin' Up exclusive Sizzix die "Paper Doily" (#125592, $21.95).  It's a sizzlit, so it's wafer thin, but larger than the other sizzlits, with the image measuring about 4-1/4" in diameter.  It's beautiful, but it does come with some cautions!  Here's the card I showed at my workshops last week:

I copied this card idea from one I saw by another demonstrator named Chris Smith on our demo only website- Stampin' Connection.  I just loved the muted colors- I used Crumb Cake and naturals white card stock.

But here's the catch- this doily die is beautiful, but there are some things to keep in mind.  First, although I've had NO problems running my die through my Big Shot some have complained that the image doesn't cut completely.  If that is the case you probably need to adjust the pressure on your die by adding a shim- usually one piece of card stock under your "sandwich" will do it.  Second, after you run it through, there are a TON of little pieces that need to be poked out.  I have had great success by rolling my card stock or DSP on a pencil and the pieces fall out.  But then I still have to go back and poke out tiny pieces (reminds me of the " hanging chads" from the Florida election years ago).  So it's not for the faint of heart.  But I really do think the extra work is worth it once you see the finished piece!
